The kinds of damage we come across
- Blade snapped off inside the ignition, door or rear lock
- A flip key hinge gone, so the blade won't stay extended
- A split case with the chip or board hanging loose
- A blade worn down so it only turns at one particular angle
- Remote electronics damaged by water
What can usually be done about it
What's possible depends on the damage, the van, and the key system — it could mean extracting a snapped blade, moving the parts into a fresh case, cutting a new blade, or supplying and programming a whole new key.
If the key's stopped working entirely and there's no other key to fall back on, it may need treating as an all-keys-lost job instead.
Hold onto the broken pieces
Even a snapped blade or a cracked fob can help identify the correct key, and on some vans it can make the job simpler. Please don't bin them.

Broken or Damaged Van Keys: common questions
The key's snapped off in the lock — should I try and get it out myself?
Try not to force it — that can push the blade in further or damage the lock. Leave it alone and get in touch.
Could you just swap the case over?
Sometimes, if the blade and electronics are both still sound. We'll tell you whether that's an option for your key.
