About the Volkswagen Crafter and its keys
Earlier Crafters shared much of their design with the Mercedes Sprinter, while later models were developed independently by Volkswagen. That split means key arrangements vary considerably by year, so the registration is always our starting point.
Lost Volkswagen Crafter keys
With a Crafter's key lost entirely, we need the registration, year and where the van's parked. We'll establish whether a key can be produced for that vehicle before arranging anything further.
Spare Crafter keys
Where more than one person drives the same Crafter, having a spare cut while an original still works can stop a whole team being stuck.
Crafter remote keys and programming
Because the Crafter spans more than one generation, the remote fitted depends on the exact year. Send the registration with a description of the fault, and we'll confirm whether a replacement remote and programming are an option. See van key programming.
Lockouts and damaged Crafter keys

Crafter ignition problems
On turn-key Crafters, a key that catches or won't turn can trace back to a worn blade or wear inside the mechanical barrel. Is an older Crafter treated the same as a Sprinter?
Earlier Crafters share a lot of Sprinter DNA, so compatibility hinges on the year. Send the registration and we'll check.
Can you deal with a fleet-owned Crafter?
Yes, business and fleet vans are fine — we may need authorisation from the owning company though.
