About the Renault Master and its keys
The Master turns up in all sorts of guises — panel van, chassis cab, Luton box and more — but it's the underlying van's year and spec that decides the key, not the body fitted on top.
Lost Renault Master keys
If the Master's last key has disappeared, give us the registration, year and where it's parked, and we'll say whether a replacement is on the cards.
Spare Master keys
On a van that several drivers might use, having a backup key makes sense. Cutting a spare is generally the easier job while one key still works.
Master remote keys and programming
Master key and card arrangements shift with the year and version, so the registration is the starting point. Tell us what's wrong with the fob and we'll say whether a replacement and programming can go ahead. See van key programming.
Lockouts and damaged Master keys
A Master that's locked up with the keys inside, or a key refusing to cooperate in the door, can bring a big job to a standstill. Send over the details and we'll advise from there. See keys locked in a van.
Master ignition problems
Whether your Master uses a turn key or a card for starting changes what ignition work is relevant. On turn-key vans, a stiff or sticking key often traces back to the blade or the mechanical barrel, whereas a key that turns but gets no response may point to the switch, battery or wiring. We check before recommending anything. See Renault van ignition replacement.
Where we attend
Wherever a Master is parked around Southampton, we'll come out to it provided the work can be carried out safely on site. See all areas covered.
What to send for a quote
- Registration and year of your Master
- Where the van is parked
- Which key type it is (or was)
- Whether any working key is left
Compatibility is checked against your exact van before anything is booked — some years and variants fall outside what we can do.

Renault Master key questions
Will a tipper or Luton body change what key I need?
No — the ignition key is tied to the base Master itself. Any extra body locks are a separate matter.
Can you help with a Master that's part of a hire fleet?
Yes, provided we have the appropriate authority from the business that owns the vehicle.
